Hi, my name is Laquanda M. Fields (Ms. L), and I’m proud to serve as the Library Media Specialist at Loretta Johnson Middle School. This has been a landmark year for our school—we opened our doors for the first time, and it has been a joy and privilege to work with our incredible scholars as we built something new, together.

Our 8th-grade scholars are more than just the oldest class on campus—they are our founders. They’ve helped create the culture, traditions, and leadership structure that will guide our school for years to come. Their contributions have been immeasurable, and we want to recognize their efforts with something special.

As part of our end-of-year Founders’ Day celebration, we’re planning to give each of our 180 8th-grade scholars a commemorative t-shirt to mark their role in this historic first year. These shirts are a symbol of belonging, PRIDE, and the legacy they leave behind.

Thanks to the generosity of a local community partner, we’ve already secured part of the funding—but we still need additional support to cover the remaining cost.

Your donation will help ensure that every founding scholar receives a t-shirt, free of charge, as a lasting reminder that they were here from the beginning and helped build something meaningful.
