Coming together for the Cal’s

My grandson Sammy has an unexpected medical emergency. His appendix burst and he had his first surgery on December 6, 2019.

He was there almost a week recovering. After, he was home only 6 days when a fever started and he was admitted back into the hospital. They found fluid in his abdomen which turned into an abscess and he needed a drain put in.

He spent Christmas in the hospital and this morning had to have another procedure because where his other drain formerly was, bursted with puss and infection. He ended up having 3 abscesses. He is still in the hospital. Hoping this third surgery will be the last one he needs so he can start healing. He has been so strong through this all. Such a genuinely sweet young man even though all this pain and suffering. 

Through all this my son In law, Samir Sr. has missed work most of December and probably this next week as Sammy is still in the hospital.

Sam, my son in law has been there day and night and he and my daughter, Christina, also have baby Marley (7 months old) there during the day.

This has been a huge financial hardship on them. He is in CHOC Hospital in Orange Couny. They charge parents less for parking but it adds up everyday and food and gas and loss of income.

I’m starting this go fund me to help them so at least they have one less thing to worry about.

Their other son Marley (7 months) was hospitalized back in June for two weeks.

This time for Sammy they are there almost at four weeks.

This has been a real tough year for them mentally, emotionally, and especially financially.
