Coming together for Jeff

Jeff has given me permission to share what has been going on with our family the past couple of months. On July 31,2017 after several years of trying to cope with PTSD, depression and anxiety Jeff tried to take his life, later that night he had a seizure on our kitchen floor. He was taken by ambulance to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was treated for an enlarged heart and high blood pressured . At that point no one knew about his attempt but him. I brought him home from the hospital on Friday August 4th just to take him back to an Army hospital on Saturday the 5th. While he was speaking to the triage nurse he got the courage to open up about his attempt and told her everything. From there he spent 2 nights at Womack Army Medical Hospital and was then transferred to Holly Hills in Raleigh,NC for 72 hours. Since then Jeff has been going through counseling session after counseling session, different group therapies, psychiatrists, meetings and trying to get all of his medications right. His sleep apnea has gotten a little worse and he is still having moment where he feels hopeless.

His doctors have decided to send him to a 35 day inpatient treatment facility in Portsmouth, VA. There he will learn how to deal with his anxiety, depression and his PTSD. They will get his dosages right with his meds and take away the ones he doesn't need. This program is basically going to help give him the steps he needs to heal, guidance on how to build a healthy mind as well as become emotionally stable and allow him to watch his girls grow up and live a long happy life.

With all that being said the program isn't 100% covered. Jeff has applied for different grants but he still needs help. I'm hoping to be able to raise this money for him that way when he gets out of the program this will be one less thing he has to worry about. I know that times are tough for everyone and everyone has their own expenses. Even if you can't donate please just share this and get the word out.
