Fort Lee Comfort Women Memorial

Donation protected
The YCFL (Youth Council of Fort Lee) is working with the Fort Lee Borough administration to build a public monument dedicated to the comfort women, young women kidnapped by Japanese imperial forces during WW2 to be used as sex slaves. Too many are unaware of the horrors these women have suffered; Their existence has gone mostly unnoticed, and their sexual slavery erased from textbooks. The monument will enable the Fort Lee community to recognize the victims with full dignity and better understand how human trafficking is a cyclic issue that needs to be stopped.
After three years, the Comfort Women Memorial Resolution finally passed at the Fort Lee Mayor & Council regular meeting on Dec. 14, 2017. The YCFL plans to raise the estimated $35,000 needed for the project and hopes to complete all construction by May 19th, 2018. As of May 16th, 2018, we have raised $36,715. Thank you so much for your support to reach our goal!!! But still any donation is extremely appreciated.
