COME TOGETHER NE FUND FOR INDEPENDENT NE VENUES

Come Together NE is raising money for North East based Independent Venues by hosting it's second digital festival on Friday 8th May - Sunday 10th on 5pm-11pm  each day on Facebook, in order to support them at this time of worldwide financial crisis. It is vital we as a North East community support venues that allow artists of all forms to be showcased and to grow. Without such venues, there would be no arts scene in the North East atall, and said venues are not getting adequate funding in order to survive, and prosper, even when we are not in a time of worldwide pandemic. We are encouraging everyone who can, to give what they can to support and keep alive some of the most amazing, passionate and Independent venues in the North East. The venues we are raising money for this time include: The Cumberland Arms The Cumberland arms is a one of the Ouseburn valleys veteran venues. Operating since the 1800’s, it has seen a fair few farmilliar faces over the past 200 years! The Cumberland Arms has always looked after local businesses of the surrounding area. From promoting local breweries to charitable do’s and helping to shape the Ouseburn community to what it is today, it has and always will be a vital heart beat of the local community. Independent Sunderland : Sunderland's largest dedicated music venue which also doubles as their most popular indie themed nightclub. They have hosted countless acts from across the region but, most importantly, they never forget about the smaller emerging artists who need somebody to give them a chance to show their craft off to a larger audience. While Sunderland has a handful of smaller creative and hard working grassroots gig spaces, Independent offers the only way for up and coming artists to perform on a fully equipped stage (there's two stages to choose from in fact) in a dedicated venue setting. They have shown their passion for supporting artists, despite being closed, through Instagram takeover, live stream gigs and artist interviews but they truly shine as a live music platform that the city of Sunderland cannot afford to lose.
