Reggie Ossé Memorial Fund

On December, 20th our world lost the voice of an man who continually raise the bar to the  hip hop culture;  pioneer cultural influencer, historian and young legend Reggie “Combat Jack” Ossé , after his 2 month battle with colon cancer.

Reggie was a dependable husband to his beautiful wife of 20 years, Akim, proud and dedicated father to his  intelligent and adventurous sons Chuma, Chi, Kai and sweet , creative daughter.  Reggie was also a fearless/ hard working attorney  and a trend setter to a fan base of over 30+K for his work as remarkable podcast called "The Combat Jack Show."

Reggie's passing was sudden, and the news of his death flooded the social media market, local New York television news stations and radio/podcast stations leaving several in complete shock.  However, the individuals that we most devestated, crushed, and left with feelings of emptiness were his family,  especially his 4 children.

Reggie was passionate and knowledgeable about music, history, and social issues.  He was engaging, charismatic, and opinionated.  He had both the luck and tenacity to have a successful track record in the entertainment industry spanning three decades.  Reggie began his career as an attorney for hip hop heavy hitters such as Jay Z and Damon Dash at Rocafella Records, the Hitmen Producers at Bad Boy Records, Capone-N-Noreaga and countless other music executives.  He also previously functioned as the Managing Editor of The Source magazine further influencing the messaging of “the culture” .

Later on his life Reggie took on another career path, with the moniker "Combat Jack" the hip hop podcast pioneer.  "The Combat Show" whom many people all over  the world listened to, was hosted by Reggie and he had countless number of guests included Wycliffe Jean, David Banner, Yassin Bey, members of Run DMC, Killa Cam and Cardi B.

In addition, Reggie helped launch the careers of other podcasters as a cofounder of the Loud Speakers Network.

Reggie was constantly a trend setter creating a hashtag #combatcancer during his fight with his sickness.

All of his wonderful achievements, were pal in comparison to Reggie’s love, and nurturing of his children, Chuma, Chi, Kai and Kara Sky, Reggie's "crowning glory.  " He loved and was committed to his children always putting them first and reguarly was pationatley  excited to share updates about their growth,  development and successes.  As a highly educated man, both with academic credentials and street smarts, he valued education and emphasized affording his children the very best educational and exposure opportunities life would allow.

The family is overwhelmed and very moved by the outpouring of love and support during this incredibly difficult time. As tributes to Reggie continue to pour in, many have asked how they can help or be of any assistance for his family. This memorial fund is an immediate way to assist in some of the burden now facing his family and four school aged children.

Donating to this fund will provide assistance to his widow and children whom he loved very much. Reggie's legacy lives through his children and his children are committed to making their father proud.
