Kailynn was born in 2009, shortly after her birth the nurses informed us that they suspected she had Down Syndrome. We were all so immersed in the moment and overjoyed that she had finally made her arrival. It didn't take long before we were given the news we were praying wasn't true. Here we are seven years later, and our family couldn't be more happy and thankful for this blessing from God. Kailynn has brought our family so much joy and happiness, and I don't want to imagine a world without more Kailynns.
On Wednesday May 31,2017, Colton celebrated his 4th Birthday! However, we didn't spend the day celebrating as most families would. We started our day in an urgent care then sent to the ER and finally to Children's Hospital of Alabama. It's here that news we were so desperately praying wasn't true, was confirmed. Colton was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, also known as ALL. Although, this is devastating news no parent or family member ever wants to hear, our family has been so loving and supportive. We've constantly visited and overcrowded his room at times, showering him with love and toys. Colton has already begun intense chemotherapy treatment that he will endure for the next six months. The following months are going to be very tough on Colton and our family. I know we serve an almightly and loving God, and that he cares deeply for every single one of us. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe He will bring healing to Colton. However, as many of you know Colton's medical bills will be astronomical. In addition to having this devastating diagnosis for Colton, Jason and Lauren are also parents to a precious daughter who has down syndrome and requires not only a lot of attention, but frequent medical visits herself. In short, this young family could use any help available. Whether it's donating money or praying for Colton's healing, anything is greatly appreciated.
