Colton's Brain Tumor Battle

On Wednesday August 22, 2018, I took my 4 year old son Colton to an appointment because his balance and motor skills were off. After watching him, the doctor admitted him to Henricks Hospital where they did an MRI. When the results came in, my entire world was turned upside down. They told me that Colton has a brain tumor at the base of his brain next to his brain stem. It is about 4.5-5cm, which is about the size of a golf ball, and it is blocking his spinal fluid and causing a build up. We were flown by helicopter to Cooks Medical Center in Dallas. Colton had his second MRI today, and the tumor is attached to his brain stem and spinal cord. I am meeting with a team of oncologist and neurologists in the morning to see what his treatment options are. He has a lot of swelling in his left and right ventricles due to the spinal fluid not being able to drain. While we do not know how long he will have to be here at this point, we know we have a long road ahead of us. 

I am a single mom with 2 other kids at home.  At this point, I cannot work go back to work because I need to be with my son through this extremely difficult time. I am still in shock and can hardly process all of this information. Anything raised will go directly towards living, medical and travel expenses.
