Colton Vierra's Medical Care

Hey everyone, it's Colton here, and I was hoping you would take a minute to listen to what's been going on with me and my family. On June 27th, I had a very scary accident at home, and my daddy, Lorne Vierra, was actually able to save my life by performing CPR. The paramedics told my parents, Brooke Malkin and Lorne, that I wouldn't have made it if it weren't for my incredible daddy. He's my superhero!!! Life since that moment has drastically changed, filled with crazy moments. I'm only 14 months old, about a week away from being 15 months old, which is a huge deal by the way, but I've been in the hospital for about a month now. I got to fly in a really cool helicopter from Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California (that's where I'm from) to Madera Children's Hospital in Fresno, California. Since my arrival at Madera, there have been tests after tests, procedures after procedures, positive moments (literally only moments) and a lot of questions that can't seem to be answered by the doctors or my parents. I was born with a double aortic arch, which hinders my ability to swallow and breathe. They've performed a few surgeries to try and correct this problem, with the most recent being a trachetomy and feeding tube. It's weird, one day things are looking great and that I'm on the mend, but then things go bad again. I know the doctors will figure out how to make me better, but I just hope it's soon. My mommy, Brooke, hasn't left my side for a moment. She's truly amazing, and knows how to make everything better. I know it's killing her that she can't make it better, but don't worry Mommy, the doctors have got this, and hopefully we can bust out of this joint within the next few weeks. See, that's the thing. The doctors told my mommy and daddy that normal tracheotomy procedures have a discharge from the hospital about a month after the procedure if there aren't any other complications. Unfortuntaely, we keep having complications. Anyways, the reason why I'm reaching out to all of you is that I have a favor to ask. My mom and dad have had to put their day to day life (aka work) on hold while we get me better, but it's costing them a lot of money to be here with me. I know my parents are super appreciative of all of our friends and family who have helped feed our dogs and take care of my older brother Tracy, he's five, but now they could use some more help. They would not be happy if they knew I was reaching out to all of you like this, they are very humble people, but I was hoping maybe you could donate to my go fund me account, so that you can take a little stress away from my parents and they can spend more time focusing on helping me get better. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. My daddy nicknamed me his "little portugese powerhouse", and I promise I will continue to live up to my name!!!!
