August 2, 2025 marks the 14th year of their occupation of their tent encampment at the entrance of the US Embassy.

<div>The GREAT news is that the UAW made public today that it has joined us in this fight by posting its own statement of solidarity:

<div>"The UAW calls on GM to deliver justice for twelve Colombian workers illegally fired after suffering debilitating injuries at GM’s Bogotá plant. 
</div>
<div>In 2011, these workers formed ASOTRECOL to fight for compensation and accountability. They’ve endured financial hardship, trauma, and maintained a peaceful protest encampment outside the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá for 5,114 consecutive days.

<div>"Now, as GM prepares to close the plant and negotiates with other unions, ASOTRECOL remains excluded. The UAW urges the Colombian Labor Ministry to block the closure until ASOTRECOL’s demands are addressed and all affected workers receive a fair and just resolution."
