Colombia "Beehive" Mission Trip

In the summer of 2010, I was given an opportunity to go on my first missions trip.  We went and visited an up a coming church in the middle of Bogota. We went there with a mission to support an orphanage they sponsor a few doors down from the church. Needless to say the young girls at the orphange changed my life and I came back to the US a  changed man, open to the reality we live in a global community and I should be using my resourced to make it better. 

The Orphange is appropiatly named the behive. The girls are everywhere. There are 10 of them ranging from 5-12. They are constanly running around, playing, getting ready for school, homework and chores. All of the girls come from a background abuse (both sexual and physical), neglect and poverty. Some of them have been rescued out of human trafficing.  All of their stories will break your heart, but depsite all that after spending one day with them you will see they have a lot of joy and love to give. The church's only mission is to provide a safe place for them to grow into productive young woman.

I have since been able to go back once and each time I have gone I have grown more to love them and the people of Colombia. On August 21st I will be returning for a third time and eagerly await seeing the young girls at the Beehive and my friends I have made during my visits there.

During this trip we are specifically going to put on a VBS for a new church plant in one of the poorer areas of Bogota as well as serving in the orphange. We will be providing things the girls will need through out the next year such as school supplies, food, clothing, etc.  Also we are trying to leave a sizable monetary donation in order to purchase the property the girls live in so they no longer have to rent it.

I am reaching out to you hoping and praying you will partner with me in this ministry oportunity. I am leaving on August 21st and I need to have funds turned in by the 17th. I hava already paid for my room, board and flight. Every dime given will go directly to the Orphange and the materials needed for the VBS we are putting on.
