College Dream for Liberian "Son"

Donation protected
We're John and Debra Moretto and James Kollie is our "son" insomuch as we attempted to adopt him from an orphanage in war-torn Liberia.

James was a good friend of our adopted son, Micah, who had promised to help James find a home in the United States. We had just adopted five Liberian orphans and, when we did not find a quick placement for James, decided to bring him into our home as well.

Just before the adoption went through, the federal government of Liberia put a moratorium on adoptions and we never were able to bring James to our home. However, we've continued a relationship with James, supporting him emotionally and financially as he finishes high school

James is graduating from high school in August and is hoping to attend Blue Crest College in Monrovia, Liberia to study I.T. (Information Technology). We want to continue helping James with his college and living expenses. However, we are now retired and, after raising 12 children (biological and adopted), we have little extra to provide James the funds he needs to be successful.

The unemployment rate in Liberia is exceedingly high. The best chance James has to escape poverty is to complete his education. He's an honest, intelligent, and dilligent young man. He deserves this chance to succeed academically.

All funds raised will go to help James with his college expenses, including purchasing a computer, paying two (2) semesters of tuition and general living expenses (room & board).

We estimate he will need $4000 for his first year of school and would be deeply grateful for any help you would choose to give us and him.
