College Fund for Ronan Collins

"Yesterday was the saddest day of my life. My dad passed away from pancreatic cancer. He was the best dad I could’ve asked for. He was always there for me and always gave me the best gear and support. Whether it was surfing, volleyball, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, or any other sport my dad was always pushed me to do my best. He lived a life full of adventures and was the best guide you could have. We always had the best trips together and he taught me so much. Ronan is a 15 year old sophomore, Surf Team member at NHHS.  He recently lost his dad to the tragedy that is cancer.  In the beautiful tribute he wrote about his dad above, we can see where Ronan got his love for sports and adventure! His life forever changed when Kevin was told he had pancreatic cancer just over 6 months ago, with little hope for recovery.  He spent the rest of his time fighting for his life and spending time with Ronan, unable to, understandably, prepare for much else. While Ronan's mom Jill and family and friends will get to watch him hit major milestones, graduate from high school, go to college, surf another wave, play another volleyball game, he will not have his dad at his side.  We, the friends of Ronan and Jill, are asking our community to help fill in where his dad can no longer. We are starting this fund to support and encourage Ronan to continue to follow his dreams of attending UCSB or wherever his future plans take him. Kevin Collins, rest in peace, we've got your son.
