Colin's Mission Trip with YWAM

This January, I have the opportunity to serve God with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Although I’ve already participated on a one-week mission trip to Costa Rica and the annual Word on Wheels 400-mile bike trip, this one will be different and more in depth. I’ll be in three months of intensive, one-on-one training, and then I’ll go to South America for three months of ministry. The return date is July 2018.

I’ve been working toward this for a year now, and I have earned more than $5,000 of the required $10,000 to fund the entire six-month mission.

That amount does not include my round trip plane tickets to Australia. I’m in regular contact with YWAM leadership in Australia, and we have locked in a departure date of January 6th. I officially start my training on January 8th.

This is a great opportunity for me to start employing the skills my church’s youth group and other Christian organizations have helped me develop. I also hope to participate in sports ministry outreach, having played soccer for most of my life.

My life verses are 1 Corinthians 16:13–14: “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”

I realize that money is not something that anybody can give these days. But would you please consider putting me and Youth With A Mission on your prayer calendar. Please pray for:
-Our team’s ability to work well together.
- People’s hearts to be receptive to the gospel message.
-Funds to be raised. I still need $7,000 for the trip in addition to round trip plane fare to Australia, and spending money for incidentals like laundry.
