Colin Took a Tumble

One of our favorite things about Colin Pierce is his willingness to “go for it” in life and in sports, with as much energy and positivity as humanly possible. As we all know, he loves to put on a show and he never fails to impress everybody with his athleticism and daredevil tricks. When you’re his audience, it’s both frightening and inspiring. When you’re Colin, this means you are prone to risks and injury. Unfortunately, this past weekend, Colin had a terrible injury.

While he was wakeboarding on the Carlsbad lagoon for his sister’s birthday, he severly broke his right lower leg. The paramedics had to come out onto the lagoon and then take him by ambulance to the Emergency Room, where he has had one surgery, with at least one more to come. He has three major fractures and will have a rod inserted into his leg (our Colin is going to be a bionic man). He will have multiple overnight stays in the hospital and a considerable amount of physical therapy in his future, but he should be fine. 

If you can spare anything to help him with expenses while he is out of work, it will go a long way. We have all experienced Colin’s generosity at one point or another (or constantly), and we know he would go out of his way to do the same for any of us. 

To no one’s surprise, Colin was cracking jokes and making all the nurses laugh during his entire first night in the Emergency Room—even heavily drugged. If Colin has made you laugh, brought a smile to your face, or brightened your day somehow, now is a really excellent time to reciprocate. This is when he needs it most. Please show Colin how much we love him, care about him, and appreciate him.
