Cole Botts Medical Fund

On August 30, 2018, Cole was born just after his mom's due date by a planned C-Section. At a little over 9 pounds and 23 inches long, he appeared to be a big healthy boy. Just after birth he spent an hour in the NICU unit due to rapid breathing. They wanted to make sure his lungs were clear, and that is breathing would become more regular. It did, and he was returned to be with his mom and dad. All of the family was there to meet the new son, grandson and nephew! On the afternoon before they were to go home, Cole went for the regular screenings newborns recieve before they leave the hospital. Sadly, Cole did not pass the congenital heart function assessment. We listened intently as the nurse explaind that Cole would be move to NICU, and would receive additional testing to find out the cause of a decreased oxygen saturation level in his blood. As days went on Cole was tested by x-ray, brain scan and brain MRI, Eco-Cardiogram, bloodwork etc. At this point- many prayers have been answered, as many serious causes have been eleminated. We know God hears our prayers, and Cole will continue to make progress. The doctors and nurses in the Duke Medical Center NICU are all taking good care of Cole. Even though we do not know why Cole goes through periods of low oxygen saturatio, we believe that this be overcome by the healing that God has provided. As his mother and father still wait for him to be able to come home. It is my hope that they will not have to be burdened with medical bills which could take years to pay off. They are good people who serve thier community as foster parents, and give with a gracious heart to thier church, New Horizon. This request is asked in love for a family who has been generous to others in the past, and will continue to be as they follow the leadership of Christ Jesus.
