Colchester Stampede for Ending Life's Taboo
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR CHARITY - ENDING LIFE'S TABOO
Tracy, Toni, Dean,Tanya, Mervyn and Darren would like you to sponsor us as we run 13 miles in memory of Ross Saxton-Davies, our son/brother. Tracy has only just started running so please give her a huge incentive to get round.
In 2016 something hit our family and broke us, it was unexpected, terrifying, and destructive.
Ross was diagnosed as life limited and died, aged 27, just 8 weeks later. Ross' mum, Tracy, noted that his end of life was made more difficult for him as he had no rapid access to counselling at his most vulnerable time. Tracy wanted to ensure that the young people that would follow Ross would have the much needed mental health support that they may need.
Our charity, Ending Life's Taboo supports young people (18 - 40) who have been diagnosed as life limited or end of life. Ending Life's Taboo offers a rapid access psychological support service based at Colchester Hospital, that aims to make their passing as peaceful as possible. The service has never been available in the hospital before. The way that someone dies also impacts on those that grieve them and that is why the families of the young person are also supported during this difficult time.
