Everything was stolen - Please help

Donation protected
My 22-year old daughter, Amanda, has been helping others her entire adolescent and young adult life. She worked with an autistic boy for 2 years and became his best friend. She visits the nursing home on a regular basis to visit with their residents, she has volunteered at Camp Rainbow for children with cancer for the last two years, and during the summer at Phoenix Children's Hospital. She has become a certified Child Life Specialist. She has spent the last several months preparing to go to China to teach 6-year old children for a year. She was set to be on a plane at 8 am this morning (9/20), but all of that was taken away when her luggage and duffle bag containing her passport, Visa to teach in China, birth certificate, immunization record, all her clothes and essentials were stolen right out of the front yard where her car was sitting while being packed, and from inside her car. The school in China is anxiously awaiting her arrival, but now she cannot afford to expedite processing of those vital documents, let alone the difference in airfare, change fees, new clothes, etc. She has spent her life helping others, and thinking only of others and not herself. She has spent the past summer working 40-50 hours each week to be able to pay for the expenses needed to cover this trip on her own. We are desperately trying to help her, but our savings has been all but depleted this past year.

We relucantly came to the decision to post on this site and ask for help from others like Amanda, who devote their life to helping others and putting others before themselves. During a get-together with all of Amanda's close friends last weekend who gathered to pray over Amanda, I heard Amanda described by her friends more than once as a saint. That she is. I cannot understand why bad things happen to good people; why others feel compelled to steal what is not theirs. This does not affect just Amanda, but her family, her extended family, the school in China waiting for her to arrive, and all the children there who will be without a teacher until she can get there.

The irony is that Amanda has not shopped for herself in over three years. Has never gone out to purchase new outfits or shoes, or luxuries. She finally just this last couple of weeks bought new outfits to wear to school in China and new shoes. All of those items were stolen. They can be replaced, but it's just funny how she waited all these years to do something for herself and all that was taken from her. Her Child Life t-shirt, the only one she had, is gone. Her "Camp Rainbow" duffle bag she received from volunteering with cancer children is gone. All of the affirmations given to her by her extended family and close friends - which can never be replaced - are gone. The picture her autistic boy she has been working with the last 2 years that he drew of them together, with the words "Best Friends" ...that is gone too.

Could you please help her? She still has a dream to help children in China and fulfill the contract she has signed.

Any amount helps, but how do you put a price on a year-long dream dashed by someone who felt he/she needed someone else's belongings that badly?
