Coins for Courtney

Courtney and her family are friends of mine that I met through my own personal journey with Epilepsy. Although I am thrilled to have the support of this amazing family, it's hard knowing that Courtney's seizure activity is at a level that now requires extensive brain surgery in hopes of gaining seizure relief.

Over the last 6 months, I have followed her journey through multiple convulsive seizures, insurance battles, testing via MRI, functional MRI's, PET scans, week-long in-patient Electroencephalograms, psych testing, and brain mapping, to qualify her for what was known as Deep Brain Stimulation surgery in July of 2020, at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas, TX. 

Courtney and her mom, Teresa, will be obligated to stay at the hospital a minimum of 2 weeks (14 + days), and basic accommodations, such as meals, are not provided to non-patients.  As if the stress is not already high enough, this means she will be paying out of pocket for the most basic of needs.
