Cohee Family Medical Relief

On May 2, 2018 the Cohee Family took a turn into the unknown. Melissa,  (a devout Christian, loving wife, mother of two, devoted friend, and community activist), experienced her first of MANY unexplained seizures while at work as a deputy clerk with Pasco County.

Seizures rapidly increased. Within 24 hours, she was in the emergency room and was told not to return to her job, drive, or be alone... under any circumstance.  A multitude of tests, procedures, medications, and unanswered questions ensued.

A 72-hour in-Home monitoring device was administered a few weeks ago. This involved a go-pro, electrode contraption to be worn physically as she went about daily activities. Results came back and we’re inconclusive. Monday, August 20th she is being admitted to the hospital for a 5-7 day constant evaluation and testing. During this time they plan to wean her off all meds to obtain a “baseline” while inducing seizures. She and her family are terrified! They have acted quickly, with help of close friends, to arrange for the children to be taken care of, fed, and transported. Meanwhile, Todd will continue to fulfill his duties at work - all while caring for the daily family needs and Melissa’s mental/emotional well-being while she is away.

Stressors are arising quickly due to financial obligations in all areas (medical bills, medications, child care, transportation, school fees, household responsibilities). The physical and mental impact is creating worry and fear within all members of their family. Melissa and her husband, Todd, have made numerous efforts to stay afloat - and are hopeful for answers... but it is taking a toll.

At this time, we ask that friends and family rally together to share love and grace to the Cohee’s.  It is with a heavy heart that they come seeking help in this manner. Any form of giving will help lift the family and help provide peace-of-mind. Donations received will be directed towards daily living expenses,  co-payments, medications, and be appropriated/distributed within their family of four to keep them all afloat.

Prayers and love to all who have previously stepped forward with aide. Thank you all and each blessing is being received with love.
