1HC: 'Good Life' Campaign

Help us start 2020 right by reaching our 'Good Life' Campaign goal of $10,000!

Our primary objective is to connect indigenous communities to resources and tools for justice and fostering intercultural collaboration.

1HC's current projects concentrate on methods of social fabric reconstruction with indigenous communities; focusing on economic stability, security and peace-building, agency, access, and intercultural education.

The 'Good Life' campaign gives us the foundation each year to support the work of our indigenous communities through resources, tools, and opportunities to share the work of peace-building and human rights with our international community. Together, we can reach 'Good Life'!

In 2019, we worked to establish a partnership with the Tseltal community and the Bachajón Mission. This year we are continuing to support their work for economic, political, and cultural stability by connecting them with the needed resources for projects in sustainable agro development, micro-financing, and workshops in food security and youth development.

We also met many new organizations (and new friends) who partner with indigenous communities in peace-building and security, human rights defense, sustainable and inclusive infrastructure solutions, and economic solutions.

This month, we will travel to Monterey, Mexico to open their annual barista training with a conversation about the reality of indigenous coffee farmers and how we can consciously make decisions that can end exploitation in the coffee industry and foster economic justice.

In March and April, we are participating in an inclusive building project with Programa Vaca in the Tzotzil community of Zinacantan where we will work with the local artisans to construct a serigraphy workshop where they can silk screen their beautiful textiles. This is an opportunity to know a new community and learn from the expertise of a team or architects, engineers, and designers who have impacted many indigenous communities in the region through integrated and sustainable housing solutions.

This year we will continue to forge a relationship and support the peace-building and social fabric reconstruction projects of Jesuitas por La Paz and Human Rights defense cases of the Miguel Austin Pro Center for Human Rights.

Please go to our website to learn more about our work, community relationships, and the opportunities YOU have to join us our team through support an personal visits to the region.

THANK YOU!
