Supporting Codys Cozy Pals

To all of our loved clients, new and old,
I know a lot of you are curious as to what our next move is, so here is the scoop:
As many of you may or may not know, it's been a difficult 5 years in our current location with many setbacks including the failure of our septic system and the refusal of my landlord to help in any way. This led us to the choice of either fixing the septic system in order to stay in business and keep paying rent or go out of business and default on the lease and disappoint our clients that we serve and love. Once we chose to fix the septic system, we were bombarded with hidden fees and the landlord requesting money he was not entitled to from us. Moving forward with the septic system repair brought various other complications as our landlord wanted us to do things a different way. We were then brought to court where the case should have been dismissed due to several precedents showing supporting case law. However, the case was not dismissed, so to avoid an expensive trial we settled on a date of June 1st, 2015 where Cody's Cozy Pals would leave the building. At that time, I had a location we were planning to move into, but that fell through a month after this settlement with our current landlord. I have pleaded with my landlord to extend our lease due to the difficulty in finding a new location and the prospect that our business would suffer. To this day, he refuses to extend our lease.

We have spent a great deal of money reinvesting into this location that we thought we would be in forever. Unfortunately, my landlord has refused to sell the building to me for any reasonable amount, wanting well over market value. We have had a few different opportunities to move that have fallen through due to finances and/or zoning restrictions, which have led us to our current circumstance. However, with a little luck, we found out that a client's family owns the property down the road, and we are in the preliminary stages of building a new 7-9000 square foot facility and own the whole thing for less than what it would cost to stay where we are and expand. The downside to this choice is that come June we have to be out of our current location and will be setting up in a temporary location while the new facility is built. But no worries its right around the corner at 9 Northway lane north, off of watervliet shaker (basically behind us) Just landed that this week (3-18-15). however In addition to that, with all of the money that we have spent at the current facility between lawyer fees, septic system repair, and reinvesting into our current location, it has left Cody's Cozy Pals with little to no working capital to get us moving. We have found that building a new place requires architect fees, surveying fees, and many other  mandated expenses. The temporary location will also cost us some money to set up. We are launching this Go-Fund-Me campaign to help save Cody's Cozy Pals . If you are unable to donate, I would ask that you please share our story and spread the word so we can continue serving the community and caring for your animals and continuing our team efforts with hearts herd animal sanctuary to keep helping pets in need as well

. We are celebrating our tenth anniversary of the creation of Cody's Cozy Pals and we want to celebrate many more years with you.

Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
your devoted Cody's Cozy Pals family
