Two months ago my brother and sister Cody and Kaydra Moses were approached out of the blue and asked if they would be willing to adopt a yet unborn baby due in August. Needless to say this was not a planned change in their lives. For a young couple with a 9 month old baby the world would quickly respond "No way". Cody and Kaydra's response? Absolutely.
God had some specific plans and Baby Airo Moses came 12 weeks early. That means we got to see her beautiful face 12 weeks early! But it also means 2 months of NICU and 2 months of living in Louisiana. When the news of Airo's early arrival came, Kaydra scrambled to find a flight to Dallas and a ride to Louisiana. Cody started working to transfer to a Starbucks near baby Airo, and everyone started trying to figure out places and ways for them to sleep, eat, and live in a place so far away from home. By God's grace they were accepted to the Ronald McDonald house and now have beds for baby Luka, mom and dad. But Cody was only able to transfer as part time and that now leaves them trying to find a way to fill 40 hours of weekly income to pay for diapers and wipes for big brother Luka, food for the family, gas to get to and from work and to and from baby Airo, clothes for baby Airo, new breaks and an oil change for the car they are driving to and from Louisiana and the hospital, and everything else it takes to keep a family functioning away from home for 2 months. This is where us as friends, family and their Church get to be a part of this incredible story. God put a path in front of Cody and Kaydra and they responded the only way they knew how. "We will go". Now we have a chance to support to fruition this mission.
