This gofundme page is for my little “Big” brother Jon Cody Hixon. Thank you to all friends, family, and everyone else rooting for and supporting Cody at a time he needs it most.

Cody was admitted to the hospital June 22, 2020, complaining of serious abdominal pain. After going into surgery, it was discovered his body had been attacked by a severe and dire infection of Colitis; The doctors said, “had he not come to the hospital when he did; he would have been dead within 18 hours”. We are so lucky and grateful Cody is still with us fighting today.

At this point, 50% of his colon is destroyed. He is suffering from multiple blood clots, fistulas that refuse to heal, and numerous other issues. Things seem really bleak right now. Cody is isolated and alone in the hospital due to the pandemic. He will be wearing a colostomy bag for at least the next 6 months; and it could be several months beyond that before the doctors can put him back together again. My best friend is not out of the woods yet and still has a very long road ahead of him physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. He has already undergone 6 surgeries since the 22nd and additional procedures are a certainty. The medical bills have already toppled $200K!

If you know and love Cody like I do, you know the following: he is a proud man unwilling to ask for help with anything; He is tough and has fought to survive many journeys thus far; Cody’s heart is even bigger than he is. He shows up for his friends.

The stress and pressure is adding up. My best friend, our friend, needs some of this burden off his shoulders so his family can find some relief. Your prayers are not only appreciated, but requested by Cody himself. His energy is slowly coming back, but his spirits are being tested and even crushed as each day seems to deliver more bad news. Whether you are able to give or not, please pass this message along, and please ask others to pass it along as well.
