CODAC Mobile Medical Treatment Unit

Tax deductible
CODAC has raised $225,000 of $300,000 needed to make this a reality.

Would you join us in making a difference? WITH YOUR HELP, CODAC is working towards the purchase of a mobile medical treatment unit to expand our efforts and help the homeless, the underserved, and the at risk communities effected by Substance Use Disorder (SUD) amid COVID-19, an epidemic during a pandemic. Rhode Island’s overdose rates have soared since January, 2020 and it is believed that racial and ethnic minority populations, as well as homeless individuals, are at higher risk. Without a clinical community outreach program to address the opioid overdose epidemic, many people are not getting the help and support they desperately need and deserve. Any donation, small or large, will help us in reaching our goal of purchasing a mobile medical treatment unit to offer services to individuals impacted by the opioid crisis in our communities. Additional Information:

Founded in 1971, CODAC Behavioral Healthcare is Rhode Island’s oldest and largest non-profit, outpatient provider of treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).With seven community-based locations, as well as programming at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections, CODAC is well-positioned to connect individuals to services wherever they are needed across the state. CODAC provides essential health care services to our vulnerable, economically distressed, low-income families, who have an opioid/substance use disorder, a weakened immune system, and those who are experiencing unemployment.

Services include:

• Medical screening- overdose training and Narcan distribution, diabetes education, medication compliance education, general health screening, blood pressure checks, and glucose screening. Post COVID, these services could be expanded to include HepC and HIV rapid testing. Depending on location, vaccinations may also be provided.

• Clinical screening for substance use disorders.

• Medication induction.

• Referral and transportation to indicated treatment level.

Together, let’s get this most vulnerable population the care they need and deserve.
