START SPREADING THE NEWS, I'M LEAVING IN MAY!!!!! (More like June, but how could I resist?!)
As many of you know, I got accepted into the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts' Summer Acting Intensive Program. After my audition, I was then offered a $1,000 Scholarship to go towards my four weeks in New York.
As soon as I recieved the scholarship, I was excited and proud, but concluded that I wouldn't go because of the funds. Not many people have a few grand to drop. It was only the encouragement and support of you all, my family and my friends, that made me see that this might actually be possible! I have been talking to professors, peers, and graduates of the program who all tell me, if I can raise the money, then I need to go.
Four grand for four weeks sounds like a lot, I know, but it's 5 days a week, 9am-6pm of intense acting training, I'll spend my weekends exploring NYC, seeing shows, visiting schools, I will leave with college credits,
and an experience that will change me as an actress and as a person.
I have listed my goal as $3,900.00. This includes:
$1936.00 Tuition (Minus $1000 scholarship & discount for paying by the early registration date, March 31st 2018);
$1510.00 Housing (Shared apartment in the East Village, 24/7 Security);
$121.00 Transportation (30-day Metro/Subway Card, flights are taken care of because of a good friend);
$333.00 Additional Costs* (Textbooks, Shows, etc.).
Please, help me experience New York for the first time in the safest and most exciting way possible.
