Cobden Marching Appleknockers

I am pleased to announce that the Cobden Marching Appleknockers have been invited to represent Illinois in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C on May 29, 2017. In an effort to help raise money for our students, Cobden Band Boosters are asking for your help. We have 56 students attending this "Once In A Lifetime" event. Please consider making a donation. Not only will they get the opportunity to march in the historic parade, but they will also get to experience educational activities while on their adventure. This trip is an all inclusive event that will take them via motor coach to Washington, D.C. Once they arrive, a tour guide will meet them and stay with them during their 4 day and 3 night stay in historic Washington, D.C., daily sightseeing activities such as Arlington Cemetery, Smithsonian, The Holocaust Museum, Lincoln, Korean, Martin Luther King, Jr., Vietnam, and National World War II Memorials, as well as a view of the outside of the Washington Monument. For many of these students, these places have only been seen in textbooks. We hope to help them by not only allowing them to participate in the parade, but bring some of these historical museums and monuments to life.
