Coach Larry Coffman’s Memorial Fund

Donation protected
As you may know Coach Larry Coffman recently passed away.

Krystal and Margaret are asking instead of flowers to donate to White Oak Baseball or American Legion Post 265. We decided this was the easiest way for everyone to help contribute from anywhere.

Message from Krystal and Margaret -
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers and memories. It is comforting to mom and I to know that Dad was so well loved.

I know a lot of you have questions about what happened, and that this seems to have come out of the blue. It really hasn't. Dad has been sick for a long time. Most of you know that he had a lot of back and neck issues. But what few people knew, because he didn't want people to worry about him, is that dad also suffered from Congestive Heart Failure. His heart did not effectively circulate blood. In his case, this caused him to retain fluid in his legs, abdomen, and lungs. The medications to help remove the fluid put a lot of stress on his kidneys. He had been battling this for over 5 years.

Dad did not want a funeral or memorial service. Especially since Mom and I are in Vegas, and his family, along with all of his extended family (WOHS and Legion) are back in NC. What you can do instead to honor his memory is remember the good times. For his players, remember the signs (which rarely changed over the years), remember the pride when you got it right, remember the running and fungos when you got it wrong, remember that he was never happier than when he was with you on that diamond.

Mom and I are doing well. You are in our thoughts and prayers as well. Thank you and we love each and every one of you.
