Coach Greg Fuhrman Memorial Scholarship Fund

Greg Fuhrman, or simply just “Coach” as he was known to many, dedicated his life to serving and inspiring others. He was the most kind, loving and wonderful husband to his wife, Kim, and father to his son, Matt. As an educator, Greg helped mold many young men and women as a Social Studies and Cooperative Education Teacher at Franklin High School in Reisterstown, MD. As a coach at McDaniel College, Greg was known as one of the finest and most knowledgeable defensive line coaches in the country. The best of Coach Fuhrman, however, occurred off the field, where he shaped countless student athletes into the compassionate and successful people that they are today. He served as a father figure to many of his players, and pushed them to become better in all facets of their lives.

McDaniel College always had a special place in Greg’s heart, as it was a community that he and his family were an integral part of. It was always important to him that his players, and the student body in general, found success both during and after their time at McDaniel. One of the best ways to honor Greg is to ensure that future students experience the same opportunities for success that he fostered at McDaniel. His family asks that you consider a donation in Greg’s honor to the Coach Fuhrman Memorial Scholarship Fund that is being created at McDaniel.

The Coach Fuhrman Memorial Scholarship Fund will be a scholarship that will be awarded to a McDaniel Student that best exemplifies the characteristics of Coach Fuhrman . Should the fundraising goal be met, the scholarship will be endowed by McDaniel College so that this can be a recurring scholarship. Preference will be given to a student athlete in the Education Department. There is no better way to honor Coach Fuhrman’s memory than to help build men and women of character.
