Coach Gracey's Football Legacy

Dave Gracey was a football coach in Kamloops at the Jr High School level for the better part of a decade. Sadly, Gracey passed away recently at the young age of 49. Coach Gracey, to so many, was much more than a football coach. He was a life coach who used football as an avenue to teach young men invaluable life lessons. He excelled at it. You would be hard pressed to find a former player that would deny Gracey’s profound impact on who they are today. His passion and enthusiasm for working with youth was matched only by his incredible sense of humour and infectious laugh.

         A fundraising event is being held for any former players to attend, but we wanted to create this page to allow anyone the opportunity to donate to a cause in honour of Coach Gracey. Our hope is to raise enough money to purchase a new football sled in his honour for the South Kamloops football program. They are in dire need of a new one. In addition to the sled, we would like to have an inspirational plaque put up on the KSS field and football locker room to cherish his legacy as well as continue to encourage countless generations of young athletes. Regardless of the amount of money raised, an award will be created at South Kamloops to be given to a deserving football player annually. If we surpass our fundraising goals, we will set up a bursary to be given with the award.
