It has taken me years to become who I am mentally, and am finally ready to make the physical changes that will allow me to live the life I have been craving. To be able to take my shirt off at the beach, go to the gym without fear, use mens restrooms without wondering whether or not someone will see my breasts.

In the past I have been a huge cheerleader for my trans* friends. Working with Werk Those Pecs, and throwing fundraisers I have been able to see what happens when a community gets together to help someone who otherwise would not be able to pay for the cost of surgeries.

For those of you who don't know me, I am a loud and proud native New Yorker. I have thrown LGBTQ parties throughout New York for the past 5 years, and recently relocated to the bay area to hopefully do the same there. Earlier this year I modeled for Barneys Spring Campaign; which was the first national campaign to use all transgender models.

I have contributed to dapperQ both as model and a writer. And was proud to be named dapperQ of the year. I started my blog Queergrub a few years ago, as a space for me to express my sometimes serious, but often light hearted commentary on the queer world. I mentor, and throw myself into as many advocacy causes as possible. I have been challenging OkCupid for the past year and a half to change their sexuality and gender options, and spoke out on Huffington Post Live about it. To put it as bluntly as possible: the queer community is my life.

I hope that you can help me along this crazy and amazing journey that is transitioning.
