Celebrating 25 years of Chelsea High School Show Choir
Please donate in support of Co. C and help us honor Mr. Steven Hinz and the tradition of making magic through music and dance in Chelsea.
Whether you knew it as Washington Street Show Choir or Co C., you'll remember the highest caliber vocal performance and dance experiences, a close and supportive group, amazing retreats and musicals, local performances and lots of laughter and fun.
During the past 25 years, hundreds of students and thousands of audience members have benefited from the entertaining, moving and fun performances of Show Choir. Last year, Mr. Hinz was named the 2014 Teacher of the Year by the Michigan State Vocal Music Association. The award was for excellence in teaching in addition to being "influential in creating a love and understanding of music for the masses". What a gift his commitment and dedication to the program is to our community!
The current Board of Co. C would like to raise support this year to help fund our current year as well as allow Mr. Hinz to explore expanded programming. Ideas for expansion include: additional dance training & voice lessons/classes for all members; guest artist programs; and possibly even summer music camp scholarships.
It costs $50,000 each year to run Co. C and about half of that comes from ticket sales and student dues. Fundraising efforts such as our annual dinner fundraiser, sponsorships and individual donations are necessary to cover the balance of our costs. This year, we are hoping to raise additional funds to allow Mr. Hinz the ability to realize his dream of expanding the program.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help. Other ways you can support Co.C are by joining us at our Dinner FUNdraiser & Auction on April 1 and by helping up "pack the house" on May 15 and 16 when Co.C takes the stage for the annual Spring Show performance.
Please note that all donations are tax deductible.
We look forward to celebrating this year with you!
With Gratitude,
