Help Mom Fight Cancer!

Donation protected
As many of you know, my mom Sandy has been fighting breast cancer, which metastasized in her brain in November 2017. She has faced this challenged like she does all things: with courage, resilience, and a ferocity that will not be beaten down! In addition to chemo, radiation, surgery, and immunotherapy, Sandy has also maintained a strict ketogenic diet and used many herbal supplements to keep her tumors at bay.

Unfortunately, the cancer has now spread to her spine and conventional medicine is running out of options. There is a promising alternative approach that we are eager to try. However, it is not covered by insurance and therefore very costly. We are humbly asking for your help to cover these expenses!

The treatment we now plan to pursue involves injections of mistletoe. In Europe, especially Germany, mistletoe is widely used in the oncology setting where it has been noted to provide numerous benefits. Both the viscotoxins and lectins have been found to inhibit cancer cell growth and cause cancer cell death.  Additionally, mistletoe has been found to increase the number of circulating anti-cancer immune cells, and at the same time, improve how well they function. One study showed that people with cancer on mistletoe therapy survived 40% longer than those not on mistletoe therapy.  In a few cases, use of mistletoe therapy has been shown to lead to disease stabilization and even remission. Most importantly, mistletoe has been studied in patients with breast cancer, so we know it will likely benefit my mom's disease.

It's sad that such promising treatments are not covered by insurance in the United States. We want to do everything possible to help my mom in her fight. The smallest donation of $10 would help us on the financial side of this battle. Sandy will bring all the fire to the physical and mental side of things!

Happy New Year, everyone, and may you all cherish your health and time with loved ones in 2020.
