Homeless to Hopeful

Donation protected
As most of you know, I grew up in a single parent household to a mother who began having children quite young. Needless to say, she had to drop out of school and has struggled since. We never had much money and often had to bounce from one person's house to the next. The cycle of poverty is all too real for my family.

I decided I wanted to do something to break that, so I am. I graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Latin American Studies in May 2011. Then, I graduated from Temple University (again!) with a Master of Education in Urban Education in May 2014. Now what? I'm attending Rutgers University-Camden Campus beginning September 2nd, 2014 for my PhD in Public Affairs-Community Development.

I was able to attain a scholarship to cover tuition for the fall and spring semesters of my first year, however, I need to pay the school fees. They total about $2,500.00 for the year. Though I'm currently working two jobs, I've been hit with a good amount of debt thus living paycheck to paycheck.

My goal in life is to run a school like (or THE SCHOOL) that saved my (and my sister's) life, Milton Hershey School. I'll be qualified once I get this PhD. :-) Watch out Milts, I'm coming in about 10 years. <3

Any assistance you could provide would be so amazing!
