Going further for Eton Academy

Donation protected
On September 12-13, a dedicated group from Team Detroit is going further, from Cumberland, MD to Washington DC , in a continuous 200 mile run which we hope to complete in under 30 hours.

We've done this twice before, so you'd think we'd know better.

It's going to be challenging, exhausting, frustrating and at times, painful and maybe even a little scary. We'll be running in whatever weather nature throws at us, all day and all night. There will be times when each of us wonders why on earth we are doing this.

You are probably wondering why right now.

Well, we’re doing this to help some very special kids and families that need it.

We imagine the questions “Why?” “Why me?” “Why is this so hard?” are questions that anyone affected by the challenges of learning difficulties asks.

So we’re running to support Eton Academy, a pretty amazing school in Birmingham that has found a way to answer those questions by dedicating their existence to focusing on children as individuals and helping them solve their learning challenges, through an industry-respected approach. They have helped so many, but Eton Academy in Birmingham wants to help more, so they are raising money for a capital campaign to extend its outreach into the community to offer more, reach more and serve more students than they’ve ever been able to before.

For us, supporting the Eton Academy Capital Campaign seemed like a pretty good reason to run. Our challenges ahead pale in comparison to the challenges the Eton students face every day. So the least we can do is lend our time, sweat and probably a tear or two, to raise money for a school in our community that needs it, and to help make a positive difference in a child’s life.

So, we humbly ask you to help.

Help can mean good wishes, encouraging support, or ideally, making a donation. And we will be grateful for every step of our 200 mile journey, knowing that any donation we receive could have a positive affect on a child’s life. Knowing that we have the support behind us on the seemingly endless stretch of mountain road, takes a little pain from the joints and adds a little energy to our steps, making each mile to go, just a little bit easier.

Below is a link, that has some pretty special children in it, and helps explain why we’re going further for Eton, and why we’d love it if you could help us to.
