Help us grow our family

Hello Friends and Family, 

Thank you for taking the time to read about our hopes and dreams of growing our family!

We hestitated creating this Gofundme because we hate asking for help and have never had to do anything like this before. But, after much prayer and seeking counsel, we decided create the fund because we know that there are people who love and care for us and want to be a part of this journey.

Chelsey and I have been trying to concieve for the majority of our marriage. We've seen three different doctors who have tested both of us for every disorder/imbalance possible and could find nothing wrong with either of us, declaring us both healthy individuals. Because of this, we were officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility, which makes up for about 3% of infertile couples. 


This has been emotionally taxing on both of us, to say the least. But God has been so faithful. Nothing is an accident and He has used this journey to grow each of us and make our marriage stronger and our faith stronger. By His grace, we've been brought to a place of contentment and really have been enjoying our lives as they are and doing our best to be faithful to God in whatever He has for us. Even so, the longing to grow our family and have children remains and we want to give it a good shot while we are still at a "fertile" age before we move on. 

Yes, we have considered adoption and would love to go that route eventually but it would cost us around $30,000 and that is just not feasible for us at the moment. In 2016, we sought out one of the best fertililty specialists in the state of Oklahoma and have been working with him for a while. After more expensive testing, the doctor went over our results and told us about our chances and options. Our doctor said now is the best time to begin treatment since we are still young and that, with the proposed treatments, he is very optimistic about the future of our fertility. 

This was wonderful news for us to hear, however, our hearts dropped when it came to discussing cost. As you may have already guessed, infertility treatments are very expensive. They are not at all covered by our insurance (or most insurance providers for that matter). 
Chelsey and I will begin treatment in February.
We have decided to only do treatment for a total of 6 months before calling it quits and moving on. We will be using our savings to pay for most of this. 

The reason we are beginning this process now is because we want plenty of time to work with our fantastic doctor. They need both of us to be there at each appointment (3-4 times a month) and that means I'll need to be available. Beginning in October 2018, I will begin my active duty service in the Marine Corps, which means we will move several times across the country, and I will be training, working a lot, and unable to be there for appointments. Having access to one specialist, who knows our case well will be unlikely for a couple of years after we begin military life. There is really no better time for us to begin treatment since I am just taking classes, studying, and not active duty right now. 


All of that being said, we won't be able to do this without your help.

If no baby comes from this, closure will, and God's peace will abound as we then seek what else He might have in store for us. Right now, we are praying for His will to be done! We know that the tears, the pain, and the wait will one day be worth it.
