Mike's Live Life Fund

Mike was diagnosed with HPV+ Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tongue and throat in February 2015. He has since met with doctors at the University of Florida Shands Cancer Center and is scheduled to begin radiation and chemotherapy treatment on March 3, 2015. Mike is determined to beat this disease and continue living a long, healthy life. Mike is engaged to Bobbi and is looking forward to an upcoming wedding. He has four children, two step-children, and five grandchildren. The doctor's have indicated that Mike's condition is curable with the right treatment. A team of 15 doctors are working on his case at Shands and ensuring that he has the best possible treatment. Mike is scheduled to do two rounds of radiation each day, M-F for six weeks with chemotherapy once a week. In order to do this, Mike will be residing in Gainesville, FL for the duration of treatment so that he has access to all of his doctors as needed. Many of you have asked how you can best support Mike during this time. First, love and prayers are needed constantly. As you know, Mike is a man of faith and he is asking for God's help as he travels this path. Second, financial donations are needed to assist in the costs associated with Mike's treatment. He will need lodging, meals, transportation, etc. Mike is not defined by his diagnosis. He loves spending time with his fiance, Bobbi, and is excited to marry her this year. He is a loving father and thanks to his children, now has a new role of being Grampy, which makes him smile from ear to ear. When Mike is not working in the Funeral Home, he is busy catching up with friends on the golf course where he loves spending his free time.
