"Wrapping Around the Cafourek's"

Taking it day by day:
Mitch Cafourek was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2012, which has continued to progress despite his pursuit of aggressive treatment and chemotherapy. He has now been diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Failure.
This beautiful family--comprised of Mitch's wife Healther, his daugher Amanda, and their children, Hadyn and Jack--is facing this devastating disease and their grief, with daily strength and grace. He and Heather take each day as it comes, focusing on their greatest joys in their life, each other and their children. All three children have provided support, compassion, and joy in what has been an overwhelming time for this couple.
The toll of a long illness:
With this illness being long and difficult, the family
understandably struggles with emotional exhaustion and drained finances. Heather has been unable to work since Mitch's diagnosis, with the need to support him through his treatments, and now palliative care needs. Heather has told me that Mitch has "always taken care of her", and she is now doing her best to take care of him as well as juggle the needs of two active and dynamic children. She has amazed me with her patience and her ability to pace herself and prioritize in the midst of many obstacles. Together, Mitch and Heather are also trying to care for their children emotionally, helping them come to terms with what may lie ahead, even as they continue to fight this illness. This is possibly the hardest of tasks for them.
To make matters worse, their home was broken into yesterday, and Mitch's medication taken. Insurance will likely NOT cover the cost of this theft by re-issuing medications...so the expenses of purchasing new ones is an immediate need, as they maintain comfort for MItch, and without them his condition can cause much pain and discomfort.
How we can help:
While we cannot truely walk in their shoes, it is possible for those that care about them to ease some of their worry, and to help them feel loved and cared for. Many of you reading this will likely have already shown your friendship and kindness to this family...and I know they are truely grateful. To those of you who may not know this family.... remember they are cared for by someone you may know and love...and we all are connected in this life.
Please consider making a donation to help the Cafourek's cover medical expenses, medications, food, housing and utility costs, and future needs of Haydn and Jack. Money given immediatly will likely be used to secure the family home again after their break-in, and to purchase medications for Mitch that have been stolen.
