So here's the deal...
My Dad is battling Stage 4 Melanoma, it is moving quick, but that's not the real issue.
For any of you who don't know him, Scott Smith is the strongest man I have ever known. Some may know him as Coach, Scotty, Papageorgio, Mr.Smith, or Moose, just to name a few, but to me, he is Hercules. I have no doubt in my mind that we will get through this battle together, with our steadfast troops rallying behind us, and send cancers ass running! As an ex-Navy Diver my father is not only strong enough but more stubborn than anyone I know(including myself, I know, sounds impossible, haha) but my current worry is the unknown of how long this war will be drawn out. I have naturally stepped into the role of Primary Caretaker and I do not take my title or duties lightly(nor would I trade them for any other position in this moment) however, this is where it gets hard for me...I have not been able to work more than 2 nights a week(and I am THE WORST at asking for help,) so here it is, I'm admitting it. I.NEED.HELP. We have moved Dad in with us but are leaving this lease to take up one at a location that will be more handicap accessible for him. Trying to juggle finances is causing undue stress in my household. So for all of you amazing individuals who have reached out to
me and asked how you can help, I'm responding with,"May I have a dollar?"
It does not sound like much but I am blessed with such a multitude of friends that if every one pitched in a dollar it would be greatly helpful!
I have attached the photo of us in the hospital to this profile to show that we are strong, resilient, and still smiling despite cancer's ugly threats! & the silly faces below(taken yesterday after Round 2, Day 3 of radiation) are just to prove that the light of hope is always present even in the darkest of days! He is full of life, faith and love.
