Clymer Support Team

Our dear friends,  Tami and Shad Clymer are in need of our support.  Here is their story…

During the last week of August, Shad came down with a bad headache that lasted for days.   At first, not much was thought about it other than it was a bad headache.  There were a few other odd things going on at the same time, such as Shad was having problems concentrating.  Each thing was “explained” away and not thought about much.  As the week went on however, the  headache got worse.  Even though Shad has always had headaches, he was finally convinced to go in to see the Dr.  He did go in, bloodwork was done, and he was sent home to wait for the results.  This was on a Friday.  Saturday came , and things were continuing to get worse.  He was getting no sleep and nothing was helping the pain.  He was nauseous and was beginning to think perhaps he had Covid.

Sunday morning, Shad woke Tami early and said he needed to go to the ER.  Because of visitor restrictions, Shad was dropped off at the door. As Tammy waited in the car, updates from the Dr had them thinking it possibly was a sinus infection, but they were ordering a CT scan to be sure. His Covid test had come back negative during this time also.

When Shad finally emerged from the ER, he had news that no one wants to hear….a mass on the right posterior side of his brain had been found.  He immediately was going to be flown to Denver for more testing.

That is the day their whole world changed.  It’s now been weeks of testing, surgery, and therapy.  They now know what they are dealing with.  Stage 4 Glioma.

To fight this battle, Shad will need 6 weeks radiation and chemo to begin with. This will be a very intense process.   He will be taking his treatment in Colorado to be close to his Dr’s.

This is how you can help.  The expenses are already growing.  Shad is unable to work at this time .  While it seems that their whole world has come to a complete standstill, the reality is the expenses of life have not.  The medical bills are mounting and expenses for travel, hotels, food, medicine and many other things continue to grow.   They need our help.

We would like to help the family by taking one huge worry off of their shoulders… finances.   Please prayerfully consider helping out in this way.  I’m reminded how in the book of Acts, the church shared in each other's burdens.   This is our chance to be that church!  Together we can bear one another's burdens.  No one fights alone.

I know also that they covet each and every prayer that is spoken on their behalf.   Tami and Shad know that the Lord is in control and they are looking to him and him only as they walk out this journey.
