Lindsay is 28, married, mother of two and a very dear friend to me. For the past couple years she's been experiencing a lot of odd side effects..Numbness of legs, feet and hands..blurred vision..vertigo..extremely bad headaches..chronic pain..insomnia..anxiety. After an MRI she was diagnosed with Chiari malformation. This is a condition in which brain tissue extends into your spinal canal. This occurs when part of your skull is abnormally small or misshapen, pressing on your brain and forcing it downward. Chiari malformation is uncommon, but improved imaging tests have led to more frequent diagnosis. Her surgery is scheduled for August, 25th of 2014 at Beaumont in Royal Oak. She will be in ICU for two days then will be moved over to recovery room for another day or so. She will be out of work for 8 weeks. Her husband will be off work for a week. Let's help their family raise money to cover some medical expenses and help with day to day bills while she is off work.
