Hi, folks. We’re a dog rescue based in Edmonds, WA. We rescue dogs from partnering shelters and rescues in TX, NM, LA and Eastern WA. If you’re a Western Washingtonian, you’ll know how steep vet bills are. Due to a severe shortage of vets but an extremely high number of companion animals in our region, vets are consistently busy and have no incentive to attract more business by offering discounted rates to rescues. Spay/neuter surgery + medication + post op care is approximately $700/dog. An office visit + Rabies, DAPP, Bordetella shots can cost almost $200/dog. After hours or emergency care can cost a few thousand dollars! Low cost clinics are booked out for months or no longer accepting appointments. Besides steep vet bills, we face another challenge. Sometimes our rescue dogs exhibit fearfulness, hyperactivity, separation anxiety or general disobedience due to their past trauma or having experienced kennel stress from being in a shelter for an extended period of time. With your help, we can afford to work with a trainer to resolve the aforementioned behavioral issues, thus increasing the dog’s adoptability and making their transition into their forever home that much smoother. Here’s where the Cloudy Day Canine Care Fund (CDCCF) comes in. CDCCF funds will go towards our rescue dogs’ medical, grooming and training bills. It will also help with purchasing foster supplies such as dog food, training treats, wire crates, slip leads, Martingale collars, leashes, harnesses, poop bags etc.  We appreciate you reading this far.
