Eva Buller's Back Surgery

Dear Friends of Eva and Elmer Buller

You may or may not have heard that Eva has been excepted to have surgery on her back in Germany, Sept. 2nd. We are very excited for her, but it comes with a great cost.

Twenty or so years ago Eva herniated her L4 & L5 disc. It was a long recovery before she could walk again. Because of the injury it is very easy to re-injure that disc, which has happened many times over the years. Consequently she has lived with a lot of pain and pain killers are not the answer.

Lately she has been in so much pain that she cannot sleep through the night in bed, and has to move to a recliner. After a few hours there she has to get up and walk around. Eva does this every night while you and I are sleeping.

Eva has exhausted different avenues here in Canada over the years, but no one can help her. When desperate, one starts looking elsewhere for help. In Manitoba, there are over 100 people, with spinal injuries, who have gone to Germany for amazing help. Eva knows some of these people. One, a doctor who has great success. Another is a gentleman who has not worked for over 10 years -- who had exactly the same problem that Eva has. He had this surgery in Germany and is now back working full time. Praise the Lord!

What do the surgeons do in Germany you ask?
Well they either rebuild a disc or give a disc replacement which will last a lifetime. The doctor in Manitoba has asked for this in Canada, but the pharmaceutical companies will not allow it. What a shame ... This surgery has been done in Germany now for 20 years with a great success rate.

So a few months ago, we heard that Eva and Elmer were going to sell their home to pay for this much needed surgery. When we heard this we told them “ Please do not do that. We will try to help out.”

So this is our appeal. If their many friends could help share Elmer & Eva's financial burden it would greatly help them. They have not asked us to do this but as friends, we feel a deep desire to help them financially. The total expenses will be just over $50,000. This covers doctor fees, air fare and hotel fees for about three weeks.

If each of us could help out with $20 ... $50 ... $100 or even $1000.00, our dear friends would not have to sell or remortgage their home. No gift is too small. They are leaving Sept. 2nd.

In addition, please be in prayer for her.
