Clipper's Canine Cafe Recovery Fund

On May 27th, 2018 Ellicott City was hit by the second major flood in a two-year period. I went to school with Kate and am friends with her, I am also a customer of the store. With her permission, I am writing on behalf of Clipper’s Canine Café and owner Kate Bowman. Clipper’s Canine Café was located in Lot D under La Palapa. Kate was working that night when the waters started rushing in. Kate grabbed her cat, Chubbs, and got him in a carrier and tried to open the door. The flood waters were so strong, that she could not open the door. She climbed out the window with the cat and was standing on the patio in waist high water struggling when some people from La Palapa saw her. Eddison Hermond was one of those people. She saw him on the other side of the Tiber River, she thinks he motioned for her to stay, and when he stepped into the water, he either fell or lost his footing and was washed away. Kate was able to struggle to safety, after a hero tried to save her. She is devastated to say the least. She, being a small business owner is reliant on the store as her sole source of income. Her heart and soul was poured into her business every day that took her years to build and was swept away in a matter of minutes. Her car is gone, her store is gone, and a life is gone. Kate will need all the help she can get in the coming months to get by. All money raised will be used to help her pay bills, and help her rebuild if possible. The money will be directly deposited into he account.  Anything that you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. The smallest donation can make the biggest difference.
