Sharmila Thapa (Sami) is a founder and the president of Samida Women Development Forum (SWDF) which is a network of single mothers and survivors of domestic violence. The organization came into existence on 2011 in order to create an active network of single mothers that face abuse (physical/sexual/mental/emotional) from family members across national, regional and international levels. She is actively working to address the rights of these women in Nepal by working exclusively with and for single mother. In Nepal, being a 'Widow',  'Divorced' or "Separated" is viewed with an unhealthy disdain. They are regarded as a bad omen or ineligible women to handle the house, leading to misery in life and depression in mind of these women. Not only this impacts her well being but also the lives dependent on her with her children. Sharmila, herself, is a single mother of two children, a son (18) and a daughter (6). Having such huge responsibilities of her children, she managed to run the organization for single mothers like herself, serving as a social activist and expanding her wings out of these, she is also one of the recognized off-road cyclists of Nepal and writer as well. She has been recognized nationally as well as internationally for her contributions for the Nepalese community. Sharmila is a 2015 NPeace Award Winner by UNDP under the category of untold story held at UNDP Headquarter New York. She has been the Speaker at University of Nottingham, UK for talk about Feminism Activism and NGO work in Contemporary Nepal and at University of Glasgow, Scotland to talk on International Women's Day and beyond women's human and citizenship rights in Nepal. She is also a writer and poet. Her Poetry for giving voice to the single women, 'Astitwa' has received a wide and well acknowledged response. Recently in 2017, she was the main speaker at CocaCola Womens Foundation, Greece and in the same year she participated in the 9 days Gender Based Violence Workshop as a South Asian Expert in Bijayawada and Kerala, India. An autobiography book of hers is processing for the publication. Sharmila Thapa successfully summit virgin peak Mt Gayalen 6551 April 10 2019.

Expedition to Mount Denali, Alaska:

Primarily, the objectives of this mission Climb Denali are to advocate for the capability of a single mother. Stepping on the last land on earth situated at the altitude of 8848m is itself a matter of pride and glory. The identity that these single mothers will make after completing the mission shall not only make their record but also to advocate and inspire all the women in the earth , target group: single mothers and global women that all is possible if you say you can and come out of the home bound territory.

These days Nepalese women are found to be interested and involved in abroad employment. Among them, most are found working in the Middle East Countries followed by other European and Asian Countries. The unskilled women manpower of Nepal who are working abroad are also found being harassed, abused and underemployed by their recruiters. Many of the women are living the life like hell and stories are covered of their rescues as well on the national dailies. In this context, Let's Change the Way We Think" "Women Are Soft Not Weak"this mission can act as a catalyst to promote the opportunities in the country, living with pride and dignity. "If I can, why not you?"

Secondly, this will be for the promotion of visit Nepal 2020 in the country. As we are driven and collaborating for the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030, we women can act as an ambassador for meeting the Sustainable Development Goal

Thirdly, this mission is to promote the visit 2020. Nepal is already a country of adrenaline rush for many adventure lovers. In deed there are people coming in Nepal, visiting different places in but this is not included in the adventurous trekking method till date and this mission can be an ambassador to the global to flourish Nepalese tourism.
