Climbing for the kids of Eureka, NV

My name is Jared Otto, I work and live in the small community of Eureka, NV and have done so, for the past two and a half years now.  Eureka is a quaint little town on highway 50, tucked at the base of the Diamond mountain range, it is filled with good hard working American families.  There are approximately 1100 people that live in and around Eureka.   My goal here is to raise enough money to introduce rock climbing to the community.  Over the past two years I have spent 1000+ dollars and many man hours developing a climbing cliff right outside of the town.  The cliff can't be in a better location, as it is only a one minute drive from town and two minute hike to get to the climbs.  The accessibility is wonderful, you could walk or ride a bike to cliff with ease.   The cliff has 10 routes for lead with a couple of more routes for Toprope.   My hope is to introduce this climbing area sometime this Fall(end of September-Oct)  There are only a few outdoor activities around Eureka and having a climbing cliff right outside of town is a great addition to the community.    Especially for the kids who are not pursuing organized sports with the school, this is a great option for them to excel at something else.  Here is my problem: nobody knows it is there.  Here is my plan:  First, need to purchase gear for the rock climbing clinic, hopefully with the help of some generous donations.  I have tried to get some assistants from Petzl, LaSportiva and 5.10(companies that make climbing gear).  5.10 responded to my request(8/22), and they are allowing me to purchase shoes for 50% off which helps a bunch!  Petzl is allowing me 45% off their gear as of 8/24)!  La Sportiva was a no go.............. I expect ~25 people to show, so the gear I would need is as follows.    5 ropes, 60 to 70 meters in length(approximately 800$),  20 helmets(800$), 5 gri-gri(belay devices, 300$), 15 harnesses(800$), and 15 pairs of climbing shoes(700$).   It will be a free event and everything will be supplied.     After the climbing clinic, there will be a raffle, it will also be free.   Raffling off, 10-12 sets of climbing gear(harness, shoes, helmet and chalk bag)  5 more helmets and 3 ropes.......................!  To help out with the climbing techniques and safety is a good friend of mine Seth Timpano.  Seth is a professional mountain guide, he has successful climbed the seven highest peaks on each continent(including Everest).  And is nominated for the coveted Pilotes d'or award for his climbs in India this year.   He will be a great addition to the climbing clinic.  I will happily answer any and all question you might have, but for now, the Mountains are calling, and I must go:)   Thanks for your potential support and helping to introduce the kids of Eureka to climbing.
