Please help 81 year-old Mississippi award-winning Ser Seshsh Ab Heter-Clifford Boxley upgrade his dial-up internet era technology to 2020 standards to help tell the Equal History of Natchez, Mississippi.
In 1995 “Ser Boxley” a lifelong human and civil rights warrior returned to Natchez after living 35 years in the San Francisco California Bay Area. From his house for the past 25 years he has, voluntarily and unpaid, waged an Equal Human History Commemorations* and Tourism Democracy Campaign to "Desegregate" History/Culture in Mississippi-Central Louisiana Pertaining to Chattel Slavery, Black Self Emancipated (runaway “slaves”) Union Civil War Freedom Fighting Soldiers, 19th and 20th Centuries Civil Rights and Diversity. Natchez was at the center of America’s southwestern chattel slavery expansion and at its Forks of the Road juncture once operated America’s “domestic slave trade” second largest deep southwest market. Ser Boxley chose the resurrection of the Forks of the Road human commodity selling market history and site as an equal history equalizer. He resurrected, reconstructed and preserved the history of the many thousands of Mississippi Valley enslaves who were Union military freedom fighters in the American Civil War by instituting an annual Blacks in the Civil War Living History program. His successful equal history commemorations accomplishments are unprecedented and extraordinary for a private citizen doing it his way. Ser was dubbed “the one man revolution in Mississippi” by the Late Queen mother of Chicago Ausar Auset Society International.
He was inspired by an 8 year old child who once said to him, “white folks make it look like they have done it all by themselves”. Historical perseverations, presentations and interpretations leave out, omit, delete, white-out, deny, censor, cover up the history, culture, and community development contributions of African descendants from the days of chattel slavery to modern civil rights. This is a grave human rights violation that matters!
Professor Jack Davis in his book, Race Against Time, Culture and Separation in Natchez Since 1930, concluded that, “each initiative toward making public history in Natchez more racially inclusive represent another victory of the African American experience and, one might add, a victory for history itself!”
From unknown to becoming a Forks of the Road National Historic Park of the National Park Service. late Mississippi U. S. Senator Thad Cochran successfully persuaded the U. S. Congress to pass a bill that enabled historic domestic chattel slavery markets sites properties at the Forks, to become part of the Natchez National Historic Park of the National Park Service. The bill was signed by the President and is now law.
