Client stole my paychecks, need help!

I am a home healthcare worker, I usually work with non-verbal and semi-verbal disabled children. A "friend" with a terminal illness asked for my help to make their dying days more comfortable. So, after months of planning, My GF and I left jobs we loved and moved 4 hours away from home, friends, family, and bandmates to help my "friend", because that's the kind of person I am, and the lengths I will go to to help someone in need. I walked them through getting signed up an approved for the home healthcare program, which took months to do btw, and after I was approved and everything looked good, we moved. My GF and I lived in our RV until we bought our first house together.
My client said "if you need to, take a couple weeks off to get your house in order, my *sig other* is home and can cover me." So I did, considering all the stuff involved moving across state.
At the end of the two weeks, I asked if they wanted me to come back on Monday, I was told I wouldn't be needed until end of January because their Spouse was going to claim the hours, and that I should collect unemployment.
First of all, This is Medicaid / Disability Fraud as only the designated provider can claim hours, the approval process took me nearly 2 months to go through, and this is something I already did for a living. Their caseworker has been made aware of the situation, of course, because as a unionized state employee, I get asked questions when I need to file for unemployment, and I told them exactly what My client told me, so good luck to them on that, federal prison doesn't sound like a fun place to be, especially during one's final days.
Second, this move cost us nearly $15,000, and I broke a lease I'm still paying for on the other side of the state to move here.
I am asking for $2000 to cover our Mortgage on our new house, rent on our old place, and expenses until I can find a new client. I know times are really tough for everyone, seriously, any help is greatly appreciated.
