9|7|2017 - 3:30 pm - Nick and Jeni Clidienst get a phone call from their neighbors that their house was engulfed in flames and that their truck had exploded during the fire. Firemen had arrived and put the fire out but their house was missing its roof and walls.
If you know Nick and Jeni Clidienst you are among the lucky ones.
Both have served in the military - Nick in the Air Force and Jeni in the Army. After leaving active duty the two individually moved to St. Louis where they found work at NGA. Seeing each other in the halls at work sparked some interest and before you knew it they were going on a date. After dating for a short time they decided to take a step back in their relationship but quickly found their way back to one another (where they happily remain) - thank goodness!
They've welcomed three children into their lives - Eli, 5, the sweetest little man you'll ever meet; Isaiah, 2, the goofiest of the bunch with a mind of his own; and Kinsley, 7 months, a smiley (chubby) little nugget. Oh! And we can't forget Moxie, their dog- without her their family wouldn't be complete!
They've proven themselves to be hard working people, incredibly loving parents to both their 2 & 4 legged kids, active/positive rolemodels, and some of the best friends you could ever have. This kind of stuff always happens to the best of people doesn't it?
The good news about the house fire that engulfed their home was that the Clidienst's had packed up their things and were headed to Branson, MO for a weekend getaway - just the 5 of them - Moxie had been boarded.
That means nobody was so much as injured in this horrible event- what a blessing.
The bad news is obvious - all of their personal belongings have been destroyed, their roof and walls are missing, one of their vehicles is totaled, the kids have lost their clothes and toys, their family pictures are ruined, artwork and drawings are lost, sentimental artifacts from world travels are no longer - and we mustn't forget that they are now temporarily homeless while their life gets pieced back together.
Fire was initially put out and the family was hopeful of saving a few items but after the fire department left the fire started back up again and got to a point where nothing could be saved. The family is currently staying with some wonderful friends/neighbors and are staying optimistic. Please keep them in your prayers.
