Two summers ago my daughter, Ren, spent 3 months in a residential eating disorder treatment facility, in addition to years of ongoing outpatient treatment. Medically speaking, she was literally fighting for her life. Treatment, and ongoing care for someone with an eating disorder is extremely expensive;  And as parents, we would give our life, and pay any amount of money to keep our children safe.  Still, the truth is, our savings was depleted, and we went into debt.  Of course we felt it was well worth it, because our daughter had her health back.  Then, a year later, as we were just getting our feet back under us, my husband lost his job. Five months later he found another job, but at half the pay. While we were truly grateful to have a job, we've been living paycheck to paycheck, while again facing accumulating medical costs that we just cannot keep up with. Our daughter  is currently  getting ready to re-enter residential treatment, and will continue ongoing outpatient treatment for an indefinite amount of time afterwards. We are looking at selling our home of 21 years just to pay off current and upcoming medical bills. If we could just get some help with the medical, maybe we could remain in our home. Having an eating disorder can be a life-long battle, for the life of the person who has it,  their family, and their finances. Thankfully  God has provided, and we have remained current on our monthly bills, for that we certainly feel blessed, but the stress of the medical costs with no end in sight is taking it's toll. Unfortunately, the amount is just a start,  as we cannot foresee how long our daughter will require inpatient treatment, and outpatient and continued care afterwards.  Any help would be a huge blessing! If you are unable to donate, prayers are equally valued. If we are blessed with more funding than we end up needing, the remainder will be donated to the National Eating Disorder Association for continued research and education.
